Abstract

The invention discloses a modified chitosan-based super-absorbent gel and preparation and application thereof. The modified chitosan-based super-absorbent gel is prepared by blending and crosslinking two types of chitosan derivatives including succinyl-chitosan and chitosan quaternary ammonium salt. The preparation of the modified chitosan-based super-absorbent gel comprises the following steps of fully dissolving the succinyl-chitosan and the chitosan quaternary ammonium salt in alkaline aqueous solution; adding in a cross-linking agent of epichlorohydrin for thermostatic stirring at 30 DEG C for 20 minutes; increasing the temperature to 80 DEG C for heat-preserved reaction for 2 hours; performing washing and drying processes to obtained the modified chitosan-based super-absorbent gel. The water absorbency, the pH sensitivity and the antibacterial effects of the modified chitosan-based super-absorbent gel can be affected by preparation process parameters, and accordingly can be regulated by adjusting the utilization quantity of the two types of chitosan derivatives or the cross-linking agent; by taking the pure chitosan derivatives as base materials, which are natural polymers with good biodegradability, environmental pollution can be effectively avoided.
