Abstract

The invention provides a water-based rust inhibitor for hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel plates. The rust inhibitor is prepared from, by mass, 8-18 parts of 2-methyl-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole, 5-10parts of sebacic acid, 8-10 parts of triethanolamine, 3-6 parts of polyol, 4-8 parts of phosphate salt, and the balance of deionized water. The rust inhibitor generates a high-strength uniform and complete protection film on a steel plate, and exists as an independent phase to completely isolate metal and a solution and reduce the metal dissolving rate in order to protect a metal material. The rust inhibitor has the advantages of good antirust effect, compounded production technology, normal temperature use, energy saving and environmental protection, solving of an existing technological problem that a lot of rusts appearing in the storage process of the hot-rolled steel plates in a process room affect the phosphating and coating quality of car plate products, good antirust effect, long period, and cooperative use with antirust oil. The rust inhibitor uses the thiadiazole as a rust inhibitor monomer to substitute a traditional nitrate salt, so the rust inhibitor is safe, is friendly to the environment, and reduces the cost.
