Abstract

The invention relates to the field of production of ethylene and propylene from propane and discloses a method and device for producing ethylene and propylene from propane. The method comprises the following steps: (1) carrying out cleavage reaction on propane, so as to obtain pyrolysis gas; (2) introducing the pyrolysis gas to be in contact with maleic anhydride, so as to generate copolymerization reaction by virtue of C4-terminal olefin in the pyrolysis gas and maleic anhydride; (3) carrying out gas-liquid separation on a copolymerization reaction product, so as to obtain a gas-phase productand a liquid-solid mixture; (4) carrying out gas phase separation on the gas-phase product, so as to obtain ethylene and propylene, wherein obtained propane is taken as a circulating material; and (5) separating the liquid-solid mixture, so as to obtain a solid product, namely a polymer containing maleic anhydride functional groups, wherein the pyrolysis gas contains 2wt%-10wt% of C4-terminal olefin. According to the method, propane can be effectively utilized for coproducing ethylene, propylene and a crosslinking copolymer, and the energy consumption in the pyrolysis separation process can be reduced.
