Abstract

The invention relates to an insecticidal composition which is prepared by compounding pyridine used as a first active ingredient with a second active ingredient selected from the group consisting of avermectin, emamectin benzoate, spinosad and spinetoram, wherein a weight ratio of the first active ingredient to the second active ingredient is 1: 20 to 20: 1, and the sum of the weights of the firstactive ingredient and the second active ingredient accounts for 1% to 60% of the total weight of the composition. A compound pesticide preparation of the insecticidal composition has significant synergistic effect and a co-toxicity coefficient of more than 135, presents an effective rate of 90% or more when applied to prevention and treatment of rice hoppers, makes up for the deficiency of single-agent pesticides, delays occurrence of pymetrozine resistance in pests, enhances drug effect, and is broadened in a prevention and treatment spectrum and reduced in dosage per mu, pesticide production cost and environmental pollution; and the compound pesticide preparation can be used for controlling agricultural pests attacking vegetables, rice, cotton, fruit trees and various crops.
