Abstract

Single-size large-particle macadam (31.5 mm-70 mm) with particle size exceeding the specification is used as a main framework, gaps of the large-particle macadam are filled with a proper amount of cement-stable coal gangue (0.075 mm-13.2 mm) as a filler, and the base materialwhich can be applied to engineering practice is formed. The problem of early cracking in a semi-rigid base asphalt pavement can be effectively solved, the large-particle macadam can provide excellentbearing capacity, rutting resistance and overload resistance, and the cost of the base material is greatly reduced by using the water-stable coal gangue as the filler. Specific horizon to which the base material can be applied can be determined by related test results, and a reference basis is provided for pavement structure design.
