Abstract

The present invention discloses a thickened powder that facilitates safe swallowing of compositions by individuals suffering from dysphagia and is useful for treating dysphagia, facilitating safe swallowing of compositions, and mitigating aspiration during swallowing of compositions risky approach. The powder contains beta-glucan and a carrier component that is a carbohydrate that is neutral to or enhances the tensile properties of the composition tensile properties.
