This invention provides a polyacrylate binder for
lithium-
ion battery separator
coating and its preparation method, relating to the field of
lithium-
ion battery materials technology. The binder comprises
emulsion particles with a core-shell structure, prepared by
soap-free
emulsion polymerization. The
soap-free
emulsion includes functional monomers, hard monomers, soft monomers, rigid monomers, and post-crosslinking monomers. The core-shell structure includes a core layer, an intermediate layer, and an outer layer. The core layer is copolymerized from hard monomers and functional monomers; the intermediate layer is copolymerized from functional monomers, soft monomers, and rigid monomers; and the outer layer is copolymerized from hard monomers, soft monomers, and functional monomers. This invention, through its three-layer core-shell structure design, achieves a unified approach to separator base film adhesion, prevents re-adhesion during high-temperature transportation, ensures good adhesion to positive and negative
electrode sheets under
room temperature cold pressing, and provides excellent
electrolyte resistance, thus solving the technical problems commonly found in existing PMMA
coating processes.
