Abstract

The invention discloses a method to treat aromatic nitro compound wastewater. The steps of the method are that: 1) bentonite clay is added into NH4C1 solution, and then is stirred so as to synthesize bentonite clay adsorbent; 2) the bentonite adsorbent is put into aromatic nitro compound wastewater, the mass volume ratio between the bentonite adsorbent and the aromatic nitro compound wastewater is 1 : 100 to 1 : 20000, and then stir and adsorption are carried out in order to get rid of aromatic nitro compound in the wastewater; and after precipitating, the wastewater can meet the discharge standard; 3) the precipitated sludge is dehydrated, the precipitated sludge is eluted with CaC12 solution; finally aromatic nitro compound and bentonite clay are recycled; 4) after the bentonite clay recycled is circularly used, solvent is activated by NaOH, and the treated bentonite clay may be used in wastewater treatment. The invention makes use of natural minerals which are easily got as China has abundant bentonite clay and total reserve is more than 7 billion tons.
