Abstract

The invention relates to a method for automatic positioning and online measurement of cam non-circular grinding, and a device thereof. The method controls an X-axis of a grinding carriage to track a C-axis of a head stock through a cam non-circular grinding motion model by high precision movement performance of C-axis and X-axis of a numerical control non-circular grinder and position data fed back from a position measurement device of the machine, keeps a gauge head of a radial displacement sensor contacted with a workpiece so as to make up the deficiency of a measuring range of the radial sensor by the motion of the grinding carriage. Coordinate figures of the C-axis and the X-axis of the machine tool and reading of the radial displacement sensor are acquired according to time sequence, the three groups of data are processed by 'sensitivity points method' according to the 'minimal condition' principle so as to obtain an optimal cam processing zero position and accurate cam profile error. The method greatly reduces the requirement on the measuring range of the radial displacement sensor to ensure a compact structure for the measuring device, thereby facilitating the online measurement and automatic positioning, and ensuring the processing efficiency and processing precision of cam non-circular grinding.
