Abstract

The invention provides a method for quickly breaking dormancy of birch-leaf pear seeds with hydroxylamine chloride, which relates to the breaking of seed dormancy and seed germination and belongs to the technical field of plant production. The method comprises the following steps: peeling off pericarp of a ripening fruit; rubbing the peeled fruit to eliminate pulp; soaking seeds in sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) of which the mass volume ratio is 20 percent to remove the pulp adhered to seed capsules; sterilizing the seeds by soaking the seeds in a mercuric chloride solution of which the mass volume ratio is 0.1 percent for 8 minutes; taking the cleaned birch-leaf pear seeds, and presoaking the seeds for 24 hours respectively in the hydroxylamine chloride of which the mass volume ratio is 0.8 percent at room temperature; and sowing the seeds after washing the seeds for 5 to 6 times. The main basis of the method is that the birch-leaf pear seeds have the characteristic of embryo dormancy, the dormancy of the birch-leaf pear seeds can be broken after the treatment with the hydroxylamine chloride, and the method can promote the seed germination, increase the seed germination rate, and has tidy germination.
