Abstract

The invention relates to a modified foaming phenolic resin and a manufacturing method thereof. The modified foaming phenolic resin comprises the following raw materials: phenol with mole fraction of 100, paraformaldehyde with mole fraction of 80-100, a modifier with mole fraction of 10-20, and a catalyst with mole fraction of 0.5-8. The preparation method comprises the steps of: adding the raw materials in a reaction kettle to mix up; heating to a temperature of 50-80 DEG C and stopping heating, and preserving the temperature for 2-10 hours; and stopping the reaction and cooling to obtain the product. In the invention, cyanamide and amide modifiers are added to improve the strength and the tenacity of the synthetic resin; meanwhile, the formaldehyde solution is replaced by the paraformaldehyde and wastewater containing phenol and aldehyde cannot be generated in the manufacturing process, therefore, the defect that wastewater is generated in the common manufacturing technology is overcome, and the manufacturing process is more environmental-friendly. More significantly, the strength of the phenolic foam manufactured by using the modified foaming phenolic resin can satisfy the demand of the wall heat preservation material.
