The invention relates to a method for preparing a tolyltriazole (TTA) sodium salt solution by utilizing a TTA former fraction. The method comprises the following steps: placing the TTA former fraction, liquid alkali and deionized water into a sodium salt preparation kettle; controlling the temperature of the kettle to be 40 to 100 DEG C; stirring for 0.5 to 1 hour; adding a decolorizing agent; reacting with stirring; and filtering out the decolorizing agent to obtain the TTA sodium salt solution. Compared with the conventional 50 percent TTA sodium salt preparation method which adopts the intermediate fraction of a TTA rectification tower so as to waste a large number of TTA former fractions, the method adopts the one-step decolorizing procedure to utilize the TTA former fractions which cannot prepare 50 percent TTA sodium salt originally, so that the problem about the former fraction which puzzles factory production for a long time is solved, the cost is saved and the economic benefit is greatly increased.
