Abstract

The invention provides a capsule skin membrane composition, which comprises carrageenan used for a gelatinizing agent and dextrin used for a skin membrane basing agent, wherein hard carrageenan and iota carrageenan in the carrageenan are mixed according to the weight ratio of more than 1:1 to lower than 1:10; 100 parts of the dextrin are mixed with the 1 to 50 parts of the carrageenan according to parts by weight; and bovine-derived gelatin is not contained in the composition. When the capsule skin membrane composition is used as a capsule skin membrane for preparing a capsule, the skin membrane characteristics of forming, cracking, strength, transparency and air seepage resistance of the prepared capsule are equal to those of the existing gelatin capsule.
