Abstract

The invention relates to a composite modified asphalt of styrene butadiene styrene block polymer (SBS) and rubber powder and a preparation method thereof. The modified asphalt comprises 0.3-0.4% of a stabilizer, 0.03% of an activating agent, 10-15% of rubber powder, 2% of SBS, 3-4% of styrene-butadiene rubber extending oil and the balance of matrix asphalt, wherein the total weight meets 100%. The preparation method of the modified asphalt comprises the steps of dividing the matrix asphalt into two equal mass of parts, firstly, preheating the first part to 125+/-2 DEG C; adding the SBS and the styrene-butadiene rubber extending oil to heated asphalt to shear and disperse at medium and high speeds; adding the rubber powder and the activating agent to the other part of matrix asphalt, swelling for 2 hours at 160 DEG C, finally shearing and dispersing the two parts of mixtures for 1 hour under the condition of 180 DEG C, and then adding the stabilizer, and cutting and developing for 1 hour at a low speed and then preparing the composite modified asphalt of rubber powder/SBS. The composite modified asphalt of the SBS and the rubber powder disclosed by the invention has the advantages that the composite modified asphalt is fully swelled; the noise-reduction is obviously reduced; and the preparation method is reasonable in construction technology, low in energy consumption, and excellent in performance of the composite modified asphalt.
