Embodiment Construction

[0019] The present invention will be further clarified through the detailed description of specific embodiments below, but it is not intended to limit the present invention, but only for illustration.

[0020] . Mutation of Upg8 Gene Makes Plants Produce PCD Response

[0021] Rice (Kittake, japonica) seeds were soaked in 1% EMS (ethyl methylsulfonate) for 24 hours to create a mutant library. The disease-like mutants were screened out from the stably inherited rice mutant progeny materials. Using the mutant and Dular (indica rice) to create a map-based clone population, using 839 separate F2 generation isolates for map-based cloning, the sequencing results confirmed that the mutant is encoded on chromosome 8 by uridine diphosphate glucose pyrophosphorylase Gene upg8 ( Os08g0206900 ) mutations. The mutant is G in the coding region of the gene 312 Mutation to A leads to premature termination of protein translation ( figure 1 ). The amino acid sequence of UPG8 (as sho...

Abstract

The invention discloses a rice disease gene upg8 and an application thereof. The upg8 gene mutates, so that the rice generates typical PCD (polymerase chain reaction) characteristics; transgenic rice for over-expression of the upg8 gene is created by a transgenic technology; and the obtained transgenic plant has tolerance on a plurality of environmental stresses. Therefore, the upg8 gene has good application value in the aspects of plant and crop varieties with enhanced cultivating resistance.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of biotechnology, and relates to a gene affecting the occurrence of rice disease and its application in plant disease resistance and transgene. Background technique [0002] Rice lesions refer to plants spontaneously producing allergic reactions similar to pathogen infection without abiotic stress, mechanical damage, or pathogen infection, and locally forming spots similar to disease spots. According to the characteristics of leaf spot formation, the mutants were divided into two types: diffuse type and initial type. The diffuse type gradually spreads to the whole leaf or the whole plant after the spots are formed, such as rice spl1 and lmm1; while the initial type refers to the spontaneous and random formation of spots with relatively stable distribution and size due to cell necrosis in the leaves or other parts of the plant, such as Rice blm and M1009. The occurrence of such lesions is not only regulated by the in...
