Abstract

The invention discloses a novel application of a gentiana straminea maxim alcohol extract to anti-anoxia. Through observing the survival time of mice in various anoxia models such as normal-pressure anoxia, sodium nitrite toxic chemical anoxia, myocardial anoxia and acute cerebral ischemic anoxia, the hydrogen peroxide (CAT) content, the superoxide dismutase (SOD) content, the malondialdehyde (MDA) content and the total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) of the liver of the normal-pressure anoxic mice are measured to research the anti-anoxia function of the gentiana straminea maxim alcohol extract. The result shows that the gentiana straminea maxim alcohol extract has the functions of remarkably prolonging the survival time of the mice under various anoxia conditions and improving the liver antioxidant enzyme activity of the normal-pressure anoxic mice so as to protect the anoxia-induced liver oxidative stress injury, and the result explains that the gentiana straminea maxim alcohol extract has an anti-anoxia function. The gentiana straminea maxim alcohol extract has a novel application to the preparation of anti-anoxia drugs and has a favorable clinic application prospect.
