Based on an existing pigment yellow 83 production method, the method can effectively prevent from generating the side reaction of polychlorinated biphenyl in a coupling reaction process by adding substituted olefin (namely, methylolacrylamide) in the coupling reaction,so that the purpose of removing PCBs can be achieved without influencing pigment performance, the polychlorinated benzidine content in a pigment product can be effectively controlled to be lower thana limit value below 25 ppm of an environmentally friendly requirement, the environment problem of high polychlorinated benzidine content in the pigment product of an existing production method can besolved, the steps of post-treatment and polychlorinated benzidine removing through washing can be decreased, and production costs can be reduced as well.
