Abstract

The invention discloses a method for extracting pepper leaf essential oil through a combination of a deep eutectic solvent method and microwave-assisted distillation. According to the method, a deep eutectic solvent (DES) is formed by a hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) and a hydrogen bond donor (HBD) according to a certain molar ratio, and essential oil is extracted from pepper leaves through microwave-assisted distillation by using the DES. The method comprises the following main steps: (1) cleaning, drying and crushing fresh pepper leaves; (2) preparing the DES; (3) carrying out microwave-assisted treatment on the DES and pepper leaf powder; and (4) extracting the pepper leaf essential oil. The method has the beneficial effects that optimal extraction process conditions responsive to surfaceoptimization are as follows: a choline chloride-urea deep eutectic solvent is used as the optimal extraction agent, a liquid-to-solid ratio is 16: 1 (mL/g), microwave power is 480 W, and extraction time is 53 minutes. The extraction method is simple, oil yield is high, and effective components in the essential oil are rich; the essential oil components are analyzed by adopting gas chromatography-mass spectrometry; a new thought is provided for essential oil extraction method; and meanwhile, the application range of the DES is also expanded.
