Abstract

The invention discloses a terahertz liquid crystal phase shifter based on a metamaterial composite structure, which consists of four layers of structures, namely an upper L-shaped metal resonance layer, a liquid crystal layer, a lower bow-shaped metal resonance layer and a quartz substrate layer in sequence from top to bottom, according to the terahertz liquid crystal phase shifter, bias voltage is applied to the upper metal layer and the lower metal layer, the deflection angle of liquid crystal molecule directors in a liquid crystal box is changed, and therefore the purpose of dynamically regulating and controlling the phase of the terahertz liquid crystal phase shifter is achieved; and secondly, the terahertz phase shifter disclosed by the invention is proved to have extremely low insertion loss in actual experiments, and has the characteristics of simple structure, small size, large phase shifting amount, convenience in dynamic regulation and control and the like.
