Abstract

The present invention is one silane-crosslinked fireproof insulating polyethylene material for the insulating layer of wire and cable. It consists of polyethylene 100 (in weight portions, the same below), silane crosslinking agent 0.8-2.5, lubricant 1.5-5.0, bromine fire retardant 10-100, antioxidant 0.02-2 and metal deactivator 0.05-1.0. The plastic of the present invention has oxygen index over 30 to ensure fire retarding requirement. It is produced through two steps including the preparation of silane grafted material and the preparation of fire retarding mother material. When used, the silane grafted material and the fire retarding mother material are mixed. The present invention has the advantages of high fireproof performance, high mechanical performance, good electrical performance and excellent heat performance, and is suitable for use in insulating layer of wire and cable, corrugated pipe in automobile, etc.
