Embodiment Construction

[0048] way 1

[0049] After the surface of aluminum is cleaned, external force is applied and immersed in mercury; or without external force, aluminum floats on the surface of mercury; or a layer of mercury is adsorbed or replaced on the surface of aluminum. Use mercury-insoluble iron or other iron group elements to make anode wire, or use graphite anode, or deposit graphite on the metal surface as anode wire. Attach the anode lead to the aluminum, or immerse it directly in the amalgam. The cathode material can in principle be any conductive substance, including mercury or amalgam. A conductor with a relatively low hydrogen evolution overpotential such as graphite should be used preferentially or graphite and other substances should be deposited on an inert electrode. Theoretically, the closer the electrode distance, the lower the energy consumption. But should pay attention to keep a certain safety distance to avoid short circuit. The cathode can be made in mesh or grid s...

Abstract

This invention relates to a method for in situ generating aluminum ions by aluminum amalgam liquid electrode for wastewater treatment. The method comprises: (1) preparing aluminum amalgam; (2) applying a DC power, and placing aluminum amalgam into wastewater to replace cations in the wastewater to form aluminum ions. The obtained aluminum ions can be used as a flocculant or a phosphorus-removing agent. This invention can be used to reduce oxidative matters in wastewater, and overcomes the shortcomings of forming a compact oxidation film on aluminum surface faced by conventional aluminum electrode method, and has no need for any chemical reagent. Besides, this invention has no secondary pollution.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to waste water treatment technology, in particular to a method for treating waste water by using an aluminum amalgam liquid electrode to generate aluminum ions in situ for flocculation or removal of phosphorus or oxidative harmful substances. Background technique [0002] Pollutants in sewage mostly exist in the form of suspended solids or colloids. Due to the effect of the surface electric double layer, suspended solids and colloids are quite stable in water, and the separation time is long. It is necessary to add electrolytes to destroy the electric double layer, so that the separation can be achieved in a relatively short period of time using methods such as precipitation / air flotation / centrifugation. According to the Hardy-Schulze law, the coagulation value is inversely proportional to the sixth power of the ion valence, and high-valence ions should be used. What is actually used is an inexpensive iron / aluminum series substan...
