The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising
azilsartan medoxomil
potassium and a
calcium channel blocker, a method for preparing same, and use thereof.
Azilsartan medoxomil
potassium and the
calcium channel blocker are formulated into a compound formulation, thus improving the
blood pressure lowering
efficacy, improving safety and
tolerability, and reducing adverse effects.
Azilsartan medoxomil
potassium can ameliorate
peripheral edema caused by
amlodipine by means of expanding
peripheral venous vessels, while
amlodipine can ameliorate adverse effects such as vasogenic
edema,
dry cough, and the like caused by
azilsartan medoxomil potassium. Compared with the monotherapies, the combination has the advantages of (1) reducing the number of doses and thus improving
patient compliance; (2) improving the compliance in seniors or those with
dysphagia; (3) preventing frequent fluctuation in
plasma drug concentration, maintaining a stable
plasma concentration, maintaining the long-term stability of
blood pressure in patients with hypertension, and reducing the adverse effects of the drugs; and (4) preventing arbitrary treatment interruption, and thus preventing
disease recurrence and the development of malignant complications.
