Pooling samples for screening diagnostics

PendingAU2025205801A1DiseasePerformed Diagnosis
The invention provides a method for pooling samples prior to a diagnostic screen for a non-infectious disease. The method includes pooling only a portion of the obtained samples and storing the other portion for later use. Pooling samples represents a more time and cost-effective way to perform diagnostic screening.

Pharmaceutical compositions containing glutathione disulfide and glutathione disulfide s-oxide

A pharmaceutical composition comprising glutathione disulfide or pharmaceutically acceptable organic or inorganic salts thereof and glutathione disulfide S-oxide of the structure (I) or pharmaceutically acceptable organic or inorganic salts thereof for eliminating dose-related toxicity of pharmacologically active compounds and enhancing therapeutic activity of pharmacologically active compounds in the treatment of infectious and non-infectious diseases. Typically, the composition contains 0.01-10% of glutathione disulfide S-oxide by weight of the total composition, in addition to a metal (Me) in the form of a complexing compound containing Me-S-glutathione bond, said metal being selected from platinum group elements, typically platinum. The amount of d-metal complexing compound administered to a patient can be 10 ‑3 to 10 ‑15 mol / kg of body weight. The composition can be used in combination with pharmacologically active compounds, which are anticoagulants, factor Xa inhibitors, antibacterial or antiviral agents, to increase their therapeutic activity and eliminate dose-related toxicity.

Respiratory pathogen detection next-generation sequencing kit based on multiple primer amplification

The invention discloses a next-generation sequencing kit for detecting respiratory tract pathogenic bacteria based on multiple primer amplification, and belongs to the technical field of microbiological detection. The nucleotide sequence of the primer group is as shown in SEQ ID NO.1-2670. The primer group is used for detecting classification of various pathogens, drug-resistant gene loci and host infection reaction up-regulation genes by adopting a targeted high-throughput sequencing (tNGS) technology. Compared with metagenome high-throughput sequencing (mNGS), the method has the advantages that the detection sensitivity is greatly improved, DNA and RNA processes can be considered at the same time, the detection time is greatly shortened, and the method has the characteristics of accuracy, practicability, uniqueness, leading edge, time saving, money saving and the like; especially, detection on host infection reaction up-regulation genes can be used for distinguishing pathogenic bacteria or conditioned pathogenic bacteria in samples, distinguishing whether acute infection causes belong to infectivity or non-infectivity, is unique in similar metagene products, and is compared with a metagene mNGS method for clinical specimen comparison verification. And the kit is accurately applied to etiological diagnosis of respiratory system infection.

Methods of treatment of alcohol associated hepatitis

PCT designated stageWO2026024792A1Organic active ingredientsAntibacterial agentsDiseaseHepatitis alcohol
Alcohol-associated liver disease, particularly alcohol-associated hepatitis, constitutes a significant global health burden with high mortality rates. Imbalances in the gut microbiota are important for the progression of alcohol-associated liver disease, a condition classified as non-infectious. Disclosed herein are methods of treating or ameliorating a symptom of alcohol-associated hepatitis and methods of reducing or preventing mortality associated with alcohol-associated hepatitis. Also disclosed herein are methods of treating or ameliorating a symptom of sepsis, urinary tract infection, pneumonia, intra-abdominal infections, and / or endocarditis. Further disclosed are methods of determining responsiveness of a subject to treatment with the small molecule inhibitor C7, methods of identifying a subject for a clinical trial for treatment for alcohol-associated hepatitis and methods of screening for candidate compounds for treating alcohol-associated hepatitis.
