In a lift and transfer device and method, a patient support assembly supported on a lift on a wheeled platform includes a main support arm pivoted to the lift. An improved bracelet article is disclosed having a closed loop section adapted to be worn upon the wrist of a wearer and a continuous extension arm releasably connected about the loop section and extendable therefrom to engage a finger ring on the hand of the wearer and prevent its loss during physical activity. A method of improving vision in an amblyopic eye is described in which vision in the dominant eye is reversibly disrupted. The technique promotes improvement of visual acuity in the weaker eye.
