The invention discloses a calcium-based adsorbent for defluorination and an application thereof and belongs to the field of wastewater treatment. Dolomite and coal ash are taken as raw materials and are compounded into the calcium-based adsorbent for defluorination, provided by the invention, according to a hydrothermal method. The application steps are as follows: (1) compounding calcined products of dolomite dust with the coal ash at the compounding temperature of 170-200 DEG C for 6h, so as to obtain the calcium-based adsorbent; and (2) adding the calcium-based adsorbent into wastewater at the dosage of 1.25-25g / L, magnetically stirring for 10min-30min, precipitating or centrifuging, and then separating solid from water. The calcium-based adsorbent for defluorination can effectively absorb fluorine pollutants under a low pH condition, and has physical and chemical absorption effects. The effluent meets GB8978-1996 class-1 emission standard.
