Problems solved by technology

exist Figure 7B In the state where the shown glass member formed of the glass ring is exposed to the outside air, it is difficult to completely prevent the moisture in the outside air from coming into contact with the exposed part. Therefore, in the case of using a phosphoric acid glass material, moisture will The whole of the glass part is corroded, reducing the airtightness of the space for the luminous excitation source

Embodiment 1

[0106] Embodiment 1 is a PDP made as follows, namely: using Figure 4A The illustrated phosphoric acid-based glass ring 15 having a truncated conical shape and the tube 12 with a flared portion having an enlarged diameter portion 53 corresponding to the shape of the inner wall surface of the glass ring 15 are produced, and the hole is covered with 11 and built-in glass parts 13 to install the pipe on (refer to Figure 4B ) on panel 1b.

[0107] (1) Preparation of glass frit and binder mixture

[0108] P 2 o 5 : 30 mol %, SnO: 60 mol %, ZnO: 90 mass % of glass powder composed of 10 mol %, add 100 mass parts of acetone as a solvent to 100 mass parts of a mixture of the glass frit and 10 mass % of camphor as a binder parts by mass, and then, it was kneaded for 10 minutes with a ball mill. Then, the glass frit / binder mixture was prepared by leaving the mixture under an atmosphere of 30° C. or lower for 30 minutes to evaporate the added acetone and dry the mixture.

Embodiment 2

[0116] Example 2 is a PDP produced by using 90% by mass of a mixed powder of 80% by mass of the above-mentioned glass powder and 20% by mass of cordierite as a refractory lead-free filler, and 10% by mass of camphor as a binder. % mixture, prepare glass frit · binder mixture, use this glass frit · binder mixture to make such as Figure 5A The phosphoric acid-based glass ring 17 having a cylindrical outer shape is shown, and the phosphoric acid-based glass ring 17 and the diameter-enlarged portion 53 having an inner wall surface shape corresponding to the outer shape of the phosphoric acid-based glass ring 17 are used. Except for the tube 16, a PDP was produced in the same manner as in Example 1. In this PDP, the tube was installed in such a manner that the hole 11 was covered and the glass member 18 was built in (refer to Figure 5B ) on panel 1b.

Embodiment 3

[0118] Example 3 is a PDP prepared as follows: instead of camphor, using naphthalene as a binder, replacing acetone, and using ethanol as a solvent to prepare a glass frit-binder mixture, and using this glass frit-binder mixture to produce Figure 6A The illustrated phosphoric acid-based glass ring 20 having a bell-shaped outer shape is used. Except for the tube 19, a PDP was fabricated in the same manner as in Example 1, and the PDP was mounted on the panel 1b in such a manner that the hole 11 was covered and the glass member 21 was embedded (see Figure 6B )Tube.

Abstract

This invention reduces the amount of lead used in a display device and improves moisture resistance of the display device. A display device (51) comprises a panel (1b) provided with a hole (11), a glass ring (13) formed of a lead-free phosphate glass, and an exhaust pipe (12) covering the hole. The glass ring joins the inner face of the pipe to the outer face of the panel. The glass ring is located on the inner side of the pipe and thus is not attacked by moisture contained in the outside air.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a display device such as a plasma display panel or a field emission display, and more specifically, to a display device having an excellent airtightness of a light-emitting excitation source space. In addition, the present invention relates to a vent tube with a glass ring and a phosphoric acid-based glass ring suitable for the manufacture of such a display device. Background technique [0002] Display devices such as plasma display panels (hereinafter referred to as PDPs) and field emission displays (hereinafter referred to as FEDs) are attracting attention as thin display devices that can achieve a larger screen size and a thinner and lighter weight. [0003] In such a display device, a luminescence excitation source space is formed between a pair of panels. The luminescence excitation source space refers to, for example, a space between a discharge space filled with a discharge gas mainly composed of a rare gas in t...
