Abstract

The invention discloses fine partical size styrene-acrylic latex for coated paper under-coating paint and a preparation method and application thereof. The styrene-acrylic latex is prepared by using the following raw materials in parts by weight through emulsion polymerization: 4-15 parts of seed emulsion, 100 parts of mixed monomer, 0.7-4.5 parts of emulsifier, 0.4-4.5 parts of initiator, 0.5-1.5 parts of accelerator, 2-8 parts of cross-linked monomer, 4-20 parts of aqueous alkali and 90-290 parts of water, wherein the mixed monomer is formed by the following monomers in parts by weight: 25-69 parts of (methyl) acrylic ester, 30-70 parts of (methyl) styrene and 1-5 parts of (methyl) crylic acid. The fine partical size styrene-acrylic latex for the coated paper under-coating paint is a high-performance and environment-friendly product which can be used for papermaking paint. If the product is applied to the under-coating paint of the coated paper, the surface strength of the coated paper can be obviously enhanced and the situation of picking can be reduced.
