The methanol fuel additive comprises the following components in parts by weight: 15.9 to 20 parts of modifier, 8 to 12 parts of oxidant, 12 to 8 parts of activating agent, 15 to 17 parts of antiknock, 0.54 to 2.48 parts of cleaning agent, 40.5 to 34.5 parts of catalyst, 8 to 6 parts of corrosion inhibitor and 0.06 to 0.02 part of anti-attrition lubricant. According to the methanol gasoline prepared with the additive, methanol and gasoline can be completely soluble or instantly soluble after being mixed, so that the methanol gasoline is clear and bright in appearance, is not layered and is free from impurities; and the methanol gasoline has the characteristics of high octane value, stable burning, sufficient power and tiny contained colloid in running tests and examination, causes no corrosion and swelling reaction on materials of the conventional gasoline car, and can be mixed with unleaded gasoline for use or directly used on the premise of not changing an engine and an oil supply system of the conventional gasoline car.
