Abstract

The invention discloses an energy saving method and a dormancy decision making system of a wireless sensor network. The energy saving method designs a state transformational rule of cellular automata; and a CA (Cellular Automata) module is designed in a routing protocol module in the system. According to the energy saving method, by adoption of the mode that the dormancy is decided by a Sink node, the problem that a wireless network based on cellular automata is lack of control ability; by design of the state transformational rule of the cellular automata, the node can be switched between the dormancy and the working states, so that the energy consumption is reduced; by arranging a CA area, a second stage node connected with the first stage node also enters into the dormancy state while the first stage node enters into the dormancy state, thereby avoiding the situation that the energy of a sensing node is wasted because of relay node dormancy is prevented, and moreover the reliability in data transmission is improved.
