The tail gas recovery device comprises an external gas storage tank and a main tail gas recovery device body, wherein the main tail gas recovery device body comprises a to-be-tested gas source inlet and a buffer tank; the to-be-tested gas source inlet is connected with a gas inlet of the sulfur hexafluoride gas test instrument through a gas connecting pipeline; a mass flow controller is arranged between the to-be-tested gas source inlet and the gas inlet of the instrument; one end of the buffer tank is connected with a tail gas outlet of the sulfur hexafluoride gas test instrument through a gas connecting pipeline, and the other end of the buffer tank is connected with a gas pump through a gas connecting pipeline; the gas pump is connected with a one-way valve through a gas connecting pipeline; the one-way valve is connected with one end of a recharging pipeline, and the other end of the recharging pipeline is connected with the external gas storage tank in a sealing mode; and recovered and compressed sulfur hexafluoride tail gas is conveyed to the external gas storage tank for storage.
