The bacillus coagulans is utilized to perform solid state fermentation. The yield of the phenyllactic acid in a sample is determined by controlling a fermentation process, extracting the phenyllactic acid in the late period of fermentation and exploring detection conditions. Finally, the bacillus coagulans solid-state fermentation feed having the highest yield of the phenyllactic acid is obtained by optimizing culture media and adding substrates. The feed effectively increases the laying rate of laying hens and reduces the death and culling rate and the feed-egg ratio. The optimum using concentration is 0.15%. The phenyllactic acid is a novel antibacterial substance, and has functions of improving animal immunity, improving livestock and poultry meat quality, reducing the quantity of escherichia coli in the livestock, and the like.
