Abstract

The invention provides a method for detecting menthol in smoke-free tobacco products. The method is capable of detecting the content of the menthol in the smoke-free tobacco products by virtue of a capillary column gas chromatography-flame ionization detector (GC-FID) method and mainly comprises the following steps: (1) pre-treating samples; (2) preparing a standard menthol solution; (3) qualitatively detecting the samples in an extraction solution; (4) quantitatively detecting the samples in the extraction solution; and (5) detecting the content of the menthol in actual samples.
