The preparation method comprises steps as follows: mixing of powdery materials: the mordenite raw powder and the attapulgite powder are uniformly added to a stirrer in the weight ratio being 4: (1-1.5) and stirred and mixed for 1.5-2.5 hours in the mixing stirrer; forming and granulation: a plurality of seeds are put in a granulator, the powdery materials are continuously added to the granulator, meanwhile, water mist is sprayed, the seeds grow to be adsorbent granules, and when the adsorbent granules reach predetermined specifications, the granules roll out of a discharge port of the granulator and conveyed to a vibrating sieving machine to be sieved; the water consumption in the whole forming and granulating processes doesn't exceed 35% of the weight of the powdery materials. The nicotine adsorbent has high nicotine adsorption capability, adsorption speed, saturated adsorbing capacity and adsorption rate and can realize thorough adsorption; the preparation method of the adsorbent is simple, convenient and low in production cost.
