The furan resin comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 4300-4400 parts of furfuryl alcohol, 390-410 parts of phenol, 390-410 parts of paraformaldehyde, 65-75 parts of acetone, 10-15 parts of 48% of potassium hydroxide by mass, 10-15 parts of phthalic anhydride, 70-80 parts of methanol, 7-9 parts of glacial acetic acid, 18-22 parts of urea and 20-25 parts of silane. By adopting the formula and method provided by the invention, the prepared furan resin has high strength and can be applied to a casting; compared with the resin in the prior art, the addition in the casting is greatly reduced, and thus the production cost of the casting is lowered; and moreover, the quality performance is stable, the content of free formaldehyde and nitrogen is low, and the yield of the casting can be increased while the environmental pollution is reduced.
