The preparation includes the following steps: grinding the diatomite with the borax, adding salicylic acid solution, sealing, heating, stirring, adding the droplets of geraniol, reducing the temperature and administering the ultrasonic processing, administering the micro wave processing, stirring until dry, calcining with high temperature to obtain the adsorbing agent. The agent utilizes the coordinated function exerted by all the materials to boost the demercuration efficiency in the flue gas demercuration process to over 95%. The agent enjoys the advantages of lengthy service period, environment-friendly feature and zero secondary pollution. The preparation method has the advantages of simple and brief processing and low costs which facilitate the industrialization.
