Abstract

The invention relates to low-VOC clean quick-burning barbecue charcoal and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method includes: using semi-coke (or coal of other types), charcoal, a starch binder, nitrate, natural clinoptilolite modified by calcium nitrate and water as main raw materials; well mixing, shaping, and drying the materials; adding ignition oil (11.8wt.%) with aromatic hydrocarbon removed to obtain the quick-burning barbecue charcoal, wherein modified zeolite is prepared by pre-baking and activating natural clinoptilolite with granularity lower than 40 meshes, soaking the same in a calcium nitrate solution, drying and baking. According to a barbecue charcoal burning experiment method in an American document-Rule 1174 Ignition Method Compliance Certification Protocol, the low-VOC clean quick-burning barbecue charcoal prepared by the method can lower VOC release amount by 20-25% in the process of burning and has obvious environment protection significance.
