[0124] Erodable water-free films prepared by solvent casting
[0125] Add the desired amount of A200V and stir until A200V was dissolved to make a fluid composition. To this clear solution was added DOW CORNING's Elastomer 9546 with stirring, followed by flexible resin. The solution is then cooled to room temperature and the support polymer is added with mixing PLUS Vinyl Acetate / Butyl Maleate / Isobornyl Acrylate Terpolymer over a period of about 15 minutes, after which the powdered PEO was slowly added until the PEO was completely dispersed in the mixture with few or no lumps. To this dispersion was added polyethylene glycol-200 with stirring for about 10 minutes, followed by the addition of 375 for about 10 more minutes. Additional isopropanol was added to adjust the viscosity to about 1200 cP to about 2000 cP.
[0126] A 1 / 8 inch thick stainless steel plate was fitted with a silicone treated release paper on the top side. Using a suitable scraper, pour the fluid...

[0142] Example 22. Solvent Casting Erodable Anhydrous Films Comprising PEO and Polyurethane
[0143] A solution of 18 grams of LUBRIZOL SP 80A-150 polyurethane polymer and 12 grams of LUBRIZOL SG 80A polyurethane polymer in 190 grams of tetrahydrofuran was prepared as mixture A. To 11 grams of mixture A was added a dispersion comprising 14.25 grams of polyethylene oxide particles having a particle size of less than 53 microns in 13.5 grams of tetrahydrofuran (mixture B). The resulting composition was mixed, poured into a frame and allowed to air dry for 40 minutes to evaporate the solvent. A pressure sensitive adhesive layer with an attached liner was placed on the film before the film was removed from the frame and further dried in an oven at 80°C for 24 hours. The PEO / polyurethane film contained 11% by weight polyurethane and 89% by weight PEO. When this procedure was repeated using 22 grams of Mixture A and Mixture B provided above, the resulting PEO / polyurethane film con...
