Abstract

The invention discloses a purging upper nozzle for a plate blank tundish, and a manufacturing method thereof. The purging upper nozzle is characterized by comprising an upper nozzle body, a reducing port and an argon blowing hole, wherein the nozzle body is externally coated with an anti-purging coating layer and the anti-purging coating layer is externally coated with a corrosion-resistant coating layer; the reducing port is fixedly connected with the bottom of the upper nozzle; and the output end of the argon blowing hole is communicated and connected with the bottom of a refractory connection plate through a through pipe. Argon gas is blown in through the argon blowing hole, so that the defect problem due to the attachment of inclusions to the inner wall of the reducing port of a plateblank is solved; and gas washing can also be carried out on molten steel being about to enter the upper nozzle through forming an air curtain shield around the upper nozzle, so that the gathering of the inclusions towards the inner wall of the nozzle is reduced, and the blockage of the nozzle is reduced. The invention further discloses specific manufacturing steps. The manufacturing process disclosed by the invention is simple and controllable; and the manufactured purging upper nozzle for the plate blank tundish effectively solves the problem of blockage of a lower nozzle during use, and improves the quality of a casting blank.
