Abstract

The artificial pollination and breeding method comprises the following steps: (1) selecting male and female parents; (2) determining pollination time; (3) collecting male parent pollen; (4) storing the male parent pollen; (5) carrying out an artificial pollination procedure;(6) obtaining hybrid seeds; (7) sowing the seeds and culturing seedlings. The method disclosed by the invention is characterized by determining an optimal pollination period; the pollination is artificially controlled and is purposefully polymerized with an existing breeding method for good properties of fraxinus chinensis germplasm; the difficulty of obtaining fraxinus velutina new germplasm withthe stable and good properties including salt resistance and fast growing and the like by artificial controlled pollination is effectively overcome, and the aims of accurately and rapidly breeding the fraxinus velutina is realized. By adopting the method disclosed by the invention, a lot of excellent germplasms can be obtained within short time and requirements on high-quality germchits of the fraxinus velutina in China are met.
