Susceptor assemblies, reactors and systems including the assemblies, and methods of using the assemblies, reactors, and systems are disclosed. Exemplary susceptor assemblies include two or more sections that can be moved relative to each other to allow rapid changes in a substrate temperature. A plurality of particles are densely packed as an array on a flexible substrate. As at least a portion of the substrate responds mechanically to an external stimulus, the coated substrate is useful as a sensor device to the extent that the mechanical response produces a separation between particles resulting in a measurable change in the physical properties of the array. A finger follower lever for actuating gas exchange valves of an internal combustion engine, having a lever body formed by two parallel side walls spaced apart by a transversely extending web. An illumination device that produces a spinning pattern of light. The illumination device utilizes a hub. At least one light source is provided that is supported by the hub. One or more fiber optic bundles are provided that extend from the hub at points eccentric to the axis of rotation for the hub. Each fiber optic bundle has a first end that receives light from the light source and a second end that terminates a predetermined distance from the hub. When the hub rotates about its axis of rotation, the fiber optic strands in the fiber optic bundle bend away from the axis of rotation due to centrifugal force. Light propagates through the various fiber optic strands as they bend, thereby creating a spinning circular pattern of light.

A marine propulsion system for shallow waters, swamps, savannahs and the like includes a rotating propeller shaft supporting a propeller. An anti-cavitation body defines a partial cylinder having a longitudinal axis adjacent to the propeller. The present invention is a system for measuring and displaying the pressure of conventional American-style footballs in real time to game officials and spectators continuously. In one preferred embodiment, at least one pressure transducer device is disposed inside the football. The pressure transducer is an electrical oscillator. The frequency of oscillation is a known mathematical function of the bladder pressure. At least one pressure readout device is positioned externally to the football at the outside of the cover-liner. The pressure readout device wirelessly stimulates the pressure transducer device to oscillate. The pressure readout device reads the frequency of oscillation and calculates the value of the pressure. In another preferred embodiment, the value of the football's pressure is measured by physical contact with a Durometer. Both embodiments display the pressure to game officials locally; and transmit the value of the football's pressure to spectators remotely.

A mirror for terrestrial or aerospace application has a substrate, which is preferably of a laminate of a plurality of Graphite Fiber Reinforced Composite (GFRC) uni-directional fiber plies applied in a laminate with layers oriented to achieve appropriate stable properties. The substrate is cured to form the desired shape with a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. A front buffering layer is immediately adjacent to and contiguous with the substrate on the first surface. The front buffer layer is of a material that buffers the surface morphology of the first surface of the substrate. A front specularizing layer is immediately adjacent to and contiguous with the front buffer layer. The specularizing layer is of a material for providing a smooth, low scatter optical surface. The specularizing layer can use an integral aluminized surface or an added vacuum deposited optical thin film coating for enhanced optical properties and durability. The mirror further has a rear buffering layer which is immediately adjacent to and contiguous with the second surface of the substrate. Finally, the mirror has a rear film which is immediately adjacent to and contiguous with the buffering layer. The material for the rear buffering layer can be the same material as that for the front buffering layer, and the material for the rear film can be the same material as that for the front specularizing layer, so as to balance the Coefficient of Thermal Expansions (CTE) of the front layers.

Provided is a formation method of a semiconductor structure. The method comprises that a semiconductor substrate is provided; a first nitrogen-doped layer is formed in the semiconductor substrate; an oxygen-containing plasma ion implantation technology is used to form an oxygen-doped layer in the surface of the first nitrogen-doped layer, and oxygen-containing plasmas comprise water plasmas at least; a second nitrogen-doped layer is formed on the oxygen-doped layer; and heat treatment is carried out on the semiconductor substrate, so that oxygen atoms in the oxygen-doped layer diffuse into the first and second nitrogen-doped layers to form first and second silicon oxynitride layers. The method can be used to improve performances of the formed semiconductor structure.

System and method for detecting and imaging radiation. A preferred embodiment comprises a substrate with electronic circuitry to detect changes in a transduction signal, an intermediate conductive layer disposed above and electrically connected to the electronic circuitry, and a lower separation layer with a high coefficient of thermal resistance that partially separates the intermediate conductive layer from the electronic circuitry. The preferred embodiment also includes a top layer disposed above the intermediate conductive layer and an absorptive layer overlying the top layer, with the absorptive layer being electrically connected to the intermediate conductive layer.
