Abstract

The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing excess sludge of a sewage treatment plant with red soil according to a certain ratio, and carrying out drying, high-temperature carbonization and nitric acid modification to prepare the novel biochar with a porous structure, whichcan promote electron transfer and accelerate degradation of organic matters. Both the sludge and the red soil contain rich mineral elements and can provide elements necessary for the growth of microorganisms; particularly, rich iron elements in the red soil can satisfy the requirements of enzymes participating in metabolism in microorganisms; the red soil is acidic, and the sludge is weakly alkaline and has a certain pH buffer capacity, so that the sludge is mixed with the red soil for carbonization, and the neutral pH suitable for microbial growth can be stabilized. The addition of red soilis beneficial to enhancing the strength of the mixed biochar, thereby prolonging the service life and enhancing the recovery rate. According to the method, the sludge and the red soil are used as biochar preparation raw materials, so that the method is green, efficient, cheap and low in preparation cost and has good environmental and economic benefits.
