The present invention relates to a feed composition for an animal comprising tea tree oil, wherein the tea tree oil is present in an amount sufficient to reduce bacterial infection in the animal upon ingestion of the feed composition, and to methods for preparing such a composition.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION[0001]The present invention relates to a feed composition for animals, particularly poultry, including tea tree oil as a supplement that reduces bacterial infection in the animals. The present invention also relates to a method of protecting animals from bacterial infections by feeding a diet comprising tea tree oil to those animals.
