The invention discloses equipment and a method for bending an orthodontic steel wire, and aims to solve the contradiction of strength, stability and precision under the working condition of an extremely short
discharge head. The equipment comprises a supporting frame, a discharging head
assembly, a first clamping mechanism, a second clamping mechanism, a lever adjusting module and a controller. Through the
synergistic combination of the length of the discharging head (5-15 mm), the movement included angle of the lever (30-60 degrees) and feeding compensation (0.2-0.6 mm), non-obvious
performance improvement is generated. The lever adjusting module drives the chuck to move along an arc track, downward pressure is generated, and a mechanical
closed loop of lever motion included angle-downward pressure-load path is formed to
resist cutting impact. And the controller executes feeding compensation based on clamping confirmation, so that the precision is ensured. Tests show that when the cooperative
system is used for
machining typical orthodontic steel wires, the high material
utilization rate (larger than or equal to 95%), the high bending precision (the deviation is smaller than or equal to + / -0.5 degrees) and the long service life (larger than or equal to 5000 times) can be achieved, and the performance outside a parameter window is reduced in a
cliff mode.
