The present disclosure is directed to an electrosurgical system. The electrosurgical system includes an electrosurgical generator configured to output electrosurgical energy and including a receptacle having at least one mechanical interface. The system also includes an electrosurgical instrument adapted to connect to the electrosurgical generator and configured to deliver energy to tissue. Further, a plug is provided to engage the receptacle to electrically couple the electrosurgical instrument to the electrosurgical generator. The plug includes a terminal electrically coupled to the electrosurgical instrument and a prong electrically coupled to the terminal that includes a recess defined therein and is configured to receive the at least one mechanical interface. When the plug is disengaged from the receptacle, the at least one mechanical interface cooperates with the recess to uncouple the prong from the terminal.

Embodiments of the invention provide methods for forming electrical connections using liquid metals. Electrical connections that employ liquid metals are useful for testing and validation of semiconductor devices. Electrical connections are formed between the probes of a testing interface and the electronic interface of a device under test through a liquid metal region. In embodiments of the invention, liquid metal interconnects are comprised of gallium or liquid metal alloys of gallium. The use of liquid metal contacts does not require a predetermined amount of force be applied in order to reliably make an electrical connection.

The present invention relates to an electrochemical cell having a terminal collector plate element that conducts electrical current from the stack. The terminal plate has an electrically conductive region and an electrically non-conductive region of the surface. The non-conductive region is coated with a corrosion resistant coating that comprises either a passivation layer, a corrosion-resistant polymeric layer, or both. Optionally, the conductive region of the terminal plate may be protected from oxidation, by coating with an oxidation-resistant metal layer. The oxidation-resistant layer may be further coated with a conductive oxidation-resistant polymeric layer. Other preferred aspects of the present invention include methods of treating the terminal plate to resist corrosion and oxidation while still maintaining electrical conductivity.

An electrical connector and a conductive assembly thereof are disclosed. The electrical connector includes an insulating body disposed with a plurality of receiving spaces, a first conductor correspondingly received in a receiving space and one end of the first conductor is hollowed out to form a receiving cavity, a liquid conductor stored in the receiving cavity, a second conductor, and a compressive elastic member. The second conductor having a main body that part thereof exposes outside of the receiving cavity, a guiding connection part extended from one end of the main body and located in the receiving cavity, and a stopper disposed between the main body and the guiding connection part. The compressive elastic member is arranged between the stopper and the bottom of the receiving cavity while the maximum compression distance of the compressive elastic member is larger than the distance between the rear end of the guiding connection part and the liquid conductor. Compared with the prior art, the conductive assembly and the electrical connector with the conductive assembly provide stable electrical connection.
