Abstract

Glucosamine supplements are widely used for the treatment of osteoarthritis. However, glucosamine has poor and variable gastrointestinal absorption although it is usually taken orally. The current invention provides new formulations and/or methods that could increase the plasma concentration by 1.3 to 4 times after oral administration of glucosamine with an additional absorption enhancer.
