Abstract

The invention discloses a novel modified polysaccharide biomaterial used for eye administration and a preparation process thereof, and the novel modified polysaccharide biomaterial comprises double hydroxyl open-loop starch and double hydroxyl open-loop starch lipid. The preparation process adopts starch as a raw material and comprises the steps of obtaining the double hydroxyl open-loop starch through a sodium periodate oxidation reaction and a sodium borohydride reduction reaction and then obtaining the double hydroxyl open-loop starch lipid through esterification. The double hydroxyl open-loop starch and the double hydroxyl open-loop starch lipid which is the derivate of the double hydroxyl open-loop starch in the invention have appropriate surface tension, appropriate rheological behaviour, appropriate viscosity and an appropriate drug release curve when being used in ophthalmic administration and mucous membrane administration, thus reducing irritant effect, improving solubility of lipid soluble drugs, improving stability of drugs and increasing bioavailability of drugs.
