Embodiment Construction

[0023] The present invention provides a detection circuit and detection method for detecting the peak current of the inductor in a DC-DC converter, such as image 3 As shown, the detection circuit includes a DC-DC converter circuit, a peak current detection circuit that detects the inductor peak current in the converter circuit, and a control circuit that generates a feedback control signal. The DC-DC converter circuit includes power switch tubes P1, P4, N2, and N3, an inductor L, an input voltage VIN terminal and an output voltage VOUT terminal, and the first power switch tube P1 is connected to the input voltage VIN terminal. The peak current detection circuit includes a mirror tube P5 that mirrors the current flowing through the first power switch tube P1 in a certain ratio, a detection resistor Rsenser connected in series with the mirror tube P5, and an operational amplifier AMP.

[0024] After the mirror tube P5 and the detection resistor Rsenser are connected in series, they...

Abstract

The invention discloses a circuit and a method for detecting an inductance peak current of a DC-DC (direct current-direct current) converter. The circuit of DC-DC converter comprises a plurality of power switching tubes and an inductor. Through arranging an image tube, through which the current of a first power switching tube flows in an imaging manner in a certain proportion, a detection resistor which is connected with the image tube in series, and an operational amplifier which is bridged at two ends of the detection resistor, the image current flowing through the image tube can generate a certain pressure drop on the detection resistor; the operational amplifier is used for detecting the peak current; and when the operational amplifier detects that the current passing through the inductor reaches a preset peak value, an efficient signal is outputted to a control circuit from the output end of the operational amplifier, and then the control circuit generates a feedback control signal to control the power switching tubes, thereby completing the detection and feedback control process for the inductance peak current. The circuit and method for detecting the inductance peak current of the DC-DC converter have the advantage of precisely and quickly detecting the current and are used for increasing the performance of a DC-DC power conversion system.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of integrated circuits, and in particular to a detection circuit and method for input peak current in a DC-DC converter with a built-in power switch tube. Background technique [0002] As we all know, all electronic devices need power, but different electronic systems have different requirements for power. In order to exert the best performance of their respective electronic systems, it is necessary to select a suitable power management chip to provide the best power management method. The high-performance power management chip is an important part of high-efficiency power converters. The high-performance power management chip has a voltage feedback control loop and a current feedback control loop. Current feedback control requires a current detector to detect the current of the inductor or switch tube, and then feed it back to the control module to generate an accurate control signal.
