[0053] The preparation of liquid crystal sample in the embodiment of the present invention all adopts following method:

[0054] The preparation of uniform liquid crystal adopts the thermal dissolution method commonly used in the industry. First, the liquid crystal compound is weighed by weight percentage with a balance. There is no specific requirement for the order of weighing and adding. Usually, the liquid crystal compound is weighed and mixed in order of melting point from high to low. Heat and stir at 60-100°C to make each component melt evenly, then filter, spin evaporate, and finally package to obtain the target sample. In addition, the method involved in the patent CN101502767A can also be used to prepare uniform liquid crystals.

Abstract

The invention provides a pyridine liquid crystal composition for thin film transistor (TFT) display. The liquid crystal composition is suitable for active matrix liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal composition comprises liquid crystal compounds shown as a general formula I and a general formula I* and used as first components, liquid crystal compounds shown as general formulas II, III and IV and used as second components, compounds shown as general formulas V and VI and used as third components, compounds shown as general formulas VII and VIII and used as fourth components, and an optical component in an amount which is 0.05 to 0.5 percent of the sum of the components. The liquid crystal composition has excellent performance, very low total response time (ttot=ton+toff), low threshold voltage, high resistivity and voltage holding ratio, and wide optical anisotropy range (0.090 to 0.130). The liquid crystal composition is suitable for manufacturing small-size quick-response twisted nematic-thin film transistor (TN-TFT) liquid crystal displays, and is also suitable for manufacturing large-size Monitors or TV liquid crystal display devices.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a liquid crystal composition, in particular to a liquid crystal composition containing a pyrimidine liquid crystal compound. The liquid crystal composition involved in the present invention is particularly suitable for manufacturing fast-response TFT liquid crystal display devices. Background technique [0002] Liquid crystal display has experienced a long development path with the discovery of liquid crystal. In 1888, the Austrian botanist Friedrich Reinitzer discovered the first liquid crystal material, cholesterol benzoate (cholesteryl benzoate). In 1968, R.Williams of American RCA Company discovered that the nematic liquid crystal forms stripe domains under the action of an electric field, and has light scattering phenomenon. G.H.Heilmeir then developed it into a dynamic scattering display mode and made it the world's first liquid crystal display (LCD). In the early 1970s, Helfrich and Schadt invented the TN (Twisred Nem...
