Abstract

Disclosed is a sulfonate-type water-soluble hydroxyl-containing saturated polyester resin, prepared by 40-47 wt% of diol, 3-6wt% of triol and 48-56wt% of dimethyl polybasic ester being subjected to a two-step ester exchange process under the action of a catalyst, and being diluted to obtain liquid resin by using a solvent, wherein the liquid resin has 75-80wt% of solid content, viscosity is equal to or more than Z5 and acid value is equal to or less than 1 mgOH / g; the above dimethyl polybasic ester comprises 7-13% of dimethyl polybasic ester containing sulfoacid group. The resin can be mixed with full etherfied melamine amino resin or high imino melamine amino resin to obtain water-soluble amino roasting-type varnish and colored paint. Further the obtained product has the advantages of good paint film adhesion, high hardness, good water tolerance, high luster and good chemical resistance. The sulfonate-type water-soluble hydroxyl-containing saturated polyester resin can also be mixed with Bayer 304 curing agent to prepare double-component water-soluble varnish and colored paint for coating furniture and vehicle repair coating.
