Abstract

The present invention is a pipe which is constituted of a copper alloy and has a grooved inner surface and which is for use in heat exchangers. The pipe is characterized in that the copper alloy contains 0.004-0.040 mass% P, with the remainder comprising Cu and unavoidable impurities, and that the recrystallographic texture of the copper alloy has a Goss-orientation density which is greater than 0 but not greater than 3.2. Furthermore, the present invention is a process for producing the pipe which has the grooved inner surface and which is for use in heat exchangers, the process being characterized in that a casting step, hot extrusion, cold working, intermediate heat treatment, rolling, and final heat treatment are conducted in this order or a casting step, cold working, intermediate heat treatment, rolling, and final heat treatment are conducted in this order, that in the casting step, a copper alloy containing 0.004-0.040 mass% P, with the remainder comprising Cu and unavoidable impurities, is cast, and that the reduction in outer diameter through working from the intermediate heat treatment to the final heat treatment is 6-16%. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a pipe which has the grooved inner surface and which is for use in heat exchangers, the pipe having excellent bendability.
